It took less than a millionth of a millionth of a millionth of a millionth of a second for the universe took expand from the size of an atom to the size of a baseball at the moment of the big bang. The expansion was actually faster than the speed of light. To fully understand this time scale planck Time was used. It is a time scale so small that is impossible to comprehend. There are more units of Planck Time in one second than all the seconds since the Big Bang. If you ask how many planck times there are in one second the answer is a billion billion billion billion billion planck times.
@Vette888,
And your point?
Bottom line is these are theories and more than likely they may never be proved or disproved.
@Ragman,
Correct me if I'm wrong but inflation is a concept that is accepted among the scientific world. Planck Time is also widely used in many configurations.
@Vette888,
You are right about that.
