You should dress goth just to confuse everybody.
Otherwise people will just judge you by how you dress.

You can never wear too much black.

Hair spiked is nice. Scowl a bit.

If you look good in jeans, drops some $$ and get some good ones. Nice Italian black shoes.

Black T.

You're set. Expensive cologne.

You're hetero, right?

The best thing you can do for dressing well is hit the gym. Get in damn good shape, get a decent haircut, jeans and a black T with good shoes and cologne, and that is it. You will kill.

People try to get all fancy but forget the basics. Put a fat dude in $2000 of great clothes and he looks like crap.

Put a hot bodied guy in jeans & t-shirt, and he looks hot. Mark my words.

Been there.

forget the gym, forget dressing to look like some band, forget spikey hair, forget all black, forget tight jeans and expensive shoes. dress in what you feel comfortable in, if you feel comfortable in yourself and your clothes you will look your best, anyone who tells you different is wrong and should come and have a word with me.

If you have the body for it, girls low rider jeans, snap front cotton shiirt, not sure about the shoes. Will have to poll my daughters guy friends for that. Hair should NOT be neat, regular cut. Should be over the ears, unkept and ragged razor looking cut.

Will check with daughter and post more.

Oh, and check out thrift stores, not brand names. More of the late 70's look.

Google "Bright Eyes"

Or walk into any independent music store, tell the clerk that you just broke up with your girlfriend, you're about to slash your wrists, and you need to borrow some clothes and some Aderol.

Again, what is Emo?I hope you dont mean Emo Phillips!!
The one person that reminds me of him is Paul Weller from The Jam,maybe you could base your look on him.

Emo is short for "Emotional."

My original understanding of the word comes from a type of music. This music is derived, or so claim Emo-kids, from punk rock music. However, emo-core involves a lot of screaming about ex-girlfriends.

Many emo songs should simply be titled, "No one has ever felt pain like this."

The pejorative definition is often used by people who are really dedicated to their genre of punk rock, but this is kind of ridiculous too. Anyways, such purists think emo is really weak and effeminate, sort of.

I just like to make fun of it all. Because I'm awesome.

Belle and Sebastian is emo; songs about girls from art school.

The look involves jet black hair with bangs over the eyes, perhaps Buddy Holly style glasses. Tight fitting t-shirts, 2% body fat, tight jeans...

I think you understand now.

Emo,wow, didntknow a new fashion had been born.I like the sound of it tho.

It conjures up images of the misunderstood poet, long dark hair, frilly shirt, velvet jacket and tight tight trousers.Very Byronesque.

Fav EMO girl. Not sure if she is a nympho...(courtesy of an A2Ker)

I've seen a lot of guys here dressed like this...not too many girls though.

Anyone know if the look is more popular with girls or guys or about the same?
