Land Title Issues

2012. Met someone named Taz, who became a roommate for a few years. Nothing romantic.
2015. I bought some vacation land with a mobile home and a barn. A 3-hour drive from the city where we live.
2016. I found out Taz was doing bad drugs and preventing me from accessing some of the property I was renting. I asked him to leave but he would not. Until he coerced me to add his name to the land title. Then he would go live there.
2017. My business failed and I was forced to go live on the vacation land. Taz was no longer living there at that time.
2018. Taz moved back to the land and we were roommates again. Which I did not want. We had some power struggles over how many trees he could cut down and sell for firewood, and how many drifters he could invite to live on the land with us. One day he injected meth and attacked me with his fists, then came at me with an axe. I'm ok now. After a short stay in the hospital, I packed what I could and moved back to the city.
2019. Taz is still in jail as the case works its way through the court system. I have a buyer for the land. Taz wants $14K of the sale price. That was what we had agreed on before he attacked me. I don't think he should profit from a crime. Any suggestions about what I could do?
