Why would someone delete his social media several times?

I know a guy who has created and deleted his social media accounts several times. I know it’s a free world and you can do as you please, but it seems odd. For example on his instagram account, for a year he uploaded content regularly, then he deleted every single post and changed the profile name. He did this twice. On facebook. He started deleting content, then changed the name of his account, then started unfriending people, then erased the account. A month later, he created a new account, he’s been using it for couple months and now started erasing content again. Why would you do that? Thoughts?
