My only wish.

Tue 4 Jun, 2019 11:37 am
I, wrote down my only wish, yesterday evening - And it involves restarting all reality, known to all participants therein/of over and over, infinitely and eternally.
So - Same again - Forever and ever.
Is this ok with you (All others) or are you pissed at my selfish design?

@mark noble,
You get to relive your exact lives over again - forever...

That so awful?

You cannot restart another person's reality. Each of us has our own reality, which might not meld with another's.

@mark noble,
You cannot change the past, you can only change how you react to it.

Do we get to remember living the same life over and over again?

If we don't remember having lived the same life repeatedly, how is that any different from just living the same life only once?

@mark noble,
I don't like this proposed system. It is effectively the same as a system where I cease to exist when I die.

Well technically if he hopes to relive the exact same life over and over again endlessly, he is probably pretty content with that life.

@Sturgis,
'Death' restarts all realities... 'melded' or not. It's not age-selective (Like Covid)...

You should read "Lathe of Heaven" by Ursula LeGuinn. It is a fantastic story about a man with exactly this ability.

@maxdancona,
Thanks, Max. I'm factchecking it in about 30 secs.

@mark noble,
It is fiction, no need to fact check. However it is very good fiction. Ursula LeGuinn is one of my favorite writers.

In it she imagines what would happen if one man had the power to shape reality (in this case by his dreams). It doesn't work out for him... but you will have to read the story.

We all think we want god-like powers....

@maxdancona,
By 'factchecking' - I Kinda mean 'Deciphering its entirity.
Have watched PBS 1980 Movie, Bill Moyers interview with Ursula and am part-way through the James Caan (As Dr Haber) movie.
I have a great critique for your kindly gift, but I'm gonna finish Caans' effort 1st.
Have a Lovely Day
