Ooh good idea.That reminded me, I was looking through old slides at the weekend and saw a pic of my brother dressed as a playing card from AIW.

I also like Beauty from Beauty and the Beast and the mad Hatter!!! HE rules!

Scarlet O'Hara. It works especially well if you have Rhett Butler on your arm.

Great costumes.I wore a crinoline a few years back, I loved it.
One of my memories from when I was about 7 was of a fancy dress outfit of a lady in a wide brimmed hat with a feather and a huge crinoline skirt, all in red with black trim.At 7 I was practically flooded with this vision towering over me.

Are there any modern day characters that would be good?

I went to a halloween party once as a pint of guinness. I borrowed the costume from a guy who was promoting a beer festival and had worn it to hand out flyers. The reactions of people (in the street and at the party) was fantastic.

I once went to a costume party as the Queen of England. Crown, ermine cape, bad jewelry, evening gloves, the works. Stayed in character all night. (Except for the Cheeto stains on the fingers of the elbow-length gloves.)

Also went to a party as Marilyn Monroe once. Wore a platinum blonde wig, a skintoned sparkly dress, and sang a very breathy "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" on stage. That was fun.

Do you think outfits worn by the likes of Kylie Minogue(her blue showgirl feather outfit) and Gwen Stefani(in What you waiting for video) would be good modern ideas or do people want the old classics?

I'd go to a party with a Mousetrap on my Willy, and if anyone enquired, I'd tell them that I was Hampton Court.

i was thinking about going as Betty Boop but i don't have to do a lot but put on a wig so now i am trying to think of something else that includes really dressing up and as it would be for my 18th birthday i really want to look good does anybody have any ideas for me????
