Forty-odd years ago my two (male) toddlers and I visited an old college friend with two little girls. She assured the that the apartment was baby proofed and my kids could roam. They did.
We found them stacking the logs from the fireplace on the dining room table for "real" log cabins.
The resident girls had never seen the logs as construction material--and they did art projects on the table all the time.
