I just wanted to remind everyone that the National Association of Letter Carriers food drive is only two weeks away.
The food drive is, to me, a second Thanksgiving as it gives me the opportunity to reflect on the abundance in my life, but it's better than Thanksgiving because it provides such an easy way to share that abundance.
All you have to do to take part is to fill some bags with non-perishable food items and put them out by your mailbox. A lot of business will also take your donation for delivery to the post office or food bank. If you live in an apartment building you might speak to building management about placing a donation box near the mail boxes!
Nobody should have to go hungry.
You can help!
This is an effort that I always support. I like both the idea and the way it's set up. It takes very little time and effort on our part, but it makes a huge difference.
Thanks for bringing this up, boomer! I'm definitely on board.
That sounds really cool - pity we don't have it in the UK
It is a great program, Eva. I'm not at all surprised to see that you support it!
Last year they collected over 70 million pounds of food!
Bekaboo - sometimes something as simple as a letter to the editor of your newspaper can help bring attention and support to such ideas!
