when analyzing reasons in an argument writing , Chinese students are prone to precede the analysis with "There are many reasons causing --- ". I found there are only 5 sentences with the quotation marked words in the Corpus, and their following content do not focus on reasons. Is it right that we should not use this sentence frame to start the analysis of reasons?

Your question is unclear. What is this "corpus" and why should we care? In most cases we advise to avoid cliches like the plague. Use cliches when pigs fly. Cliches are a dime a dozen.
