I recently signed up with a satellite internet service. I have three devices I use it with: an iMac , an HP laptop and a Samsung phone. When I test the internet speed with speedofme I'm getting 20Mbps on the latter two which is what the service advertises but only 5Mbps when I test on the Mac. What could the problem be with the Mac?

Are all the devices hard connected to the modem/router or are you using wireless? If the latter, it could be the wireless strength. If the Mac is older, it could also be the wireless adapter in the Mac is not capable of the highest speeds. Read this article for help:

I would have guessed it to be the laptop that was slow, and for no good reason whatsoever, just because that seems to be what laptops do - get slower and slower over time.
On the other hand, Apple have been caught red handed deliberately making older phones slower....
