Oh come on, you know it's harder when you go out alone! How many times have you gone out and picked up a woman by yourself? Come on, be honest...

Um... 2,342 times give or take a dozen...

. I have never understood why someone would want a wingman? What do you do with him after you've made your move? Hope that her friend likes your friend??? Umm. I'd rather keep the conversation going with two women and let one of them opt (or not Embarrassed ) and then let things go from there.

Have I ever left emptied armed? Doesn't the mighty eagle when he is diving for a salmon just get a bath occasionally??

Shoot and keep shooting. Cast your line (How many mixed metaphors can be put into a paragraph??)

Look like you are having the time of your life and you soon will be.

Joe(get a button that says I'm single and I'm straight. Try to keep them from pulling your pants down on the dance floor.)Nation

Well for one, I'm not on a slut hunt. Being married and all. It helps that I am a drinker, so I have six or seven bars that I feel comfortable going to on my own.
Tonight my choice is a bar named Hell where I am a charter member, and one of the bartenders is having his "retirement" party.
The joys of living in a college town.

Do you know The Village Idiot ? Downtown. I used to go there alone all the time .
You probably won't meet a superior class of slut there, but it's a nice place to drink.

LionTamer, you will be sad to hear that The Village Idiot closed down a couple/few months ago. I really liked that place. Yeah, I gotta find someplace like that to hang.

Joe, you are an inspiration to me. I have no balls though, unless I have backup. I don't know why. I go into a bar alone, and I feel like I have no shot. But with my friends, somehow, I can hit on any woman. I'm just built stupid like that, I guess.

But you know what...maybe I'll give it a shot tonight...

Okay, here's the lines

The woman says to you (doubtfully) "Are you here by yourself?"

You laugh and say:"My very best friend, Joe, was supposed to come with me but at the last second decided to fall back in love with his fiance."

She'll laugh.
And you have mentioned love, friendship and fiances all in one sentence.

"Yeah, they almost split but you know how it is with love."

Shake your head, offer to refresh her drink, ask her to dance, smile at her friend. Dance. Talk. Never mention Joe again.

Joe(Unless you want her to fall in love with you.)Nation

PS if you reply to any more than two more posts, I am coming over there and dragging you over to York Avenue or (Shudder) down to the Lower East Side.

Shouldn't there be all kinds of interesting women wandering around cuz of the film festival? They're usually on the prowl during the film fest here.

That's way downtown though, ehBeth. I don't feel like going all the way down there. Joe, I will use your lines if I decide to go, but, emmmm....Dag, what movie are you watching? Got any room on the couch?

I'm probably staying in too, dammit.

One roomate doesn't want to go out, the other is working(but at a bar), and one of my friends didn't call me back.

But I'll be drinking for two tomorrow, I'm sure.

But you're coming uptown to see Lola and Blatham, aren't you? They live about two blocks away from me, so you will be in MY bubble at some point. Hehehe...

Ehbeth, what, is this some kind of Poing thing again? Jesus, I really need a translator when you get here. Maybe littlek can help me out.

Okay, Joe said I am in trouble if I respond to more than two more posts a little ways back, so I am going to have to do something now. Will I go out? Or will I stay in and watch The Hulk, which just started on the Movie Channel? Will I sit at the corner of the bar, drinking alone like a woosieboy and not talk to any women, or will I meet a gaggle of jiggly uber-babes to do the late night lambada with?

The answer to these, and many other questions, later....

Joe is on his way. He asked me to let you know that you should wear a white beater, white painter pants and a cowboy hat. Meet him on the southwest corner in 20 minutes.

He went out and a guy in a plaid shirt whistled at him.
He thought it was Joe.
He was wrong.
There will be an announcement in the morning.
