What's your favorite hot sauce? You fear no hot pepper?

The hotter the better? Just a little kick? A dash of saltiness?
Would you scarf a Carolina Reaper or two on a lark?
What's the hottest thing you've ingested (that registers on the Scoville scale)?

Melinda's. I really like the flavor that it has in addition to the heat.

For Mexican food I like things to be about the intensity of a raw jalapeno. That is nowhere in the league of people who like the intensity of a raw habanero, but there are also a lot of people who think I'm nuts to go even that hot.

I always bring Mexican food to the about the same heat level no matter how strong the sauce I'm using is. If it's strong I only use a little. If it's weak I use a lot.

I've eaten raw jalapenos and like them. I know that I wouldn't like anything stronger, so have not attempted to do so.

@tsarstepan,
Britain long had a reputation as being the home of bland foods, all that changed with the influx of immigrants from the Indian sub continent. Now chillies are extremely popular. This is the sauce I'm using at the moment, it's extremely hot.

There's normally a chilli and cheese festival around here each year and I buy something from one of the small growers, which like the above is probably something that's unknown outside of the UK.

Above images from the Winchester Cheese and Chilli festival which I've visited twice.

These ones are from the Dorset chilli festival which I've yet to visit. I'll probably go this year.

I don't avoid hot sauce but don't go out of my way to get it. It's just there, for me.

@edgarblythe,
You've had it all your life, for some of us it's a fairly recent phenomenon. For a long time spicing up our meals meant salt and pepper, (not too much pepper mind.)

@izzythepush,
I've grown to really love black pepper and peppery food (fish chowder and other soups from Whole Foods; certain chai teas; etc...). More so than the heat from the harshest of hot sauces.

My favorite hot sauce is Frank's Hot Sauce. It's relatively mild but I love it for the vinegary and salt it provides whatever I'm eating.

@tsarstepan,
I think Domino's Pizza does that one.

@tsarstepan,
Love Frank’s and I can find it most supermarkets. Louisiana and Cholula hot sauces are good too. I add much smaller amounts these days than I once did. I also drink far less beer 🍺 than I once did. Coincidence? Hmmmmm?

In a semi-related area, I made my own chili 🌶 by using poblano peppers and cutting them up by 🖐 hand. However, I didnt wear 🧤 gloves. Not my brightest moment. Though my chili was great, my hands burned for days afterward.

@Ragman,
A mate of mine ended a relationship when he tried to make love to his partner after doing the same.

She wasn't happy.
