I agree with Roger, although sentence one is somewhat ambiguous. That's because of sentence two. Only people born before the second world war (according to your sentence two) could say this--everyone born after the second world war would have globalization as a feature of their lives.
If you refer to people who became aware of globalization, no matter what their age, it would be more common for a native speaker to say: "Globalization appeared in our lifetime."
