Irish is very famous in ancient times. Why it is famous? What are the reasons?

How many instruments were accessible to a given not-so-heavily developed civilization at that given time? Probably not many more than the rudimentary wooden flute that was the Irish flute.

It is entirely possible that the Irish flute was (is) popular because its very "voice" is much like a bird singing. And just the tone of the instrument and its shape ensured that the music traveled a long distance. I believe that the music just fit the landscape. The limited number of notes meant that the people had to "do the best with what they had". That is, they learned to make relatively elaborate music within a certain musical range.
