Unsafe conditions in my duplex

There is mold everywhere in my duplex. I've brought this up to my landlord 3 years ago and she just came to look at the issues last month. Her and her husband and their "maintenance" man said it was just dirt (they are not experts in identifying mold), me, my son and my dog are all getting horribly sick. My windows are missing pieces and are broke, my baseboard heaters smell like burning plastic, my patio is crumbling and uneven. People are constantly tripping and falling over it. My son bruised the entire left side of his face when he fell, I went head first into the door frame and have a huge welt on my head. The landlord refuses to fix anything and told me if I keep making an issue about it she will evict me and sue me for mold damages, and breaking the heaters and anything else she can find. They send unlicensed people out to fix electrical and gas problems. I live in Porter County Indiana and nobody can help me, not the health dept or code enforcer because I rent. I've talked to an attorney and was told that it's common for slumlords to do these things especially knowing I'm on SSD and I have MS and cant afford to fight it. Do I just let them win again? I cant afford another place, but I do not deserve to be treated badly, and I shouldn't have to fight to get my landlord to make my place safe. She's violated my rights as a tenant and my lease and I cant do anything about it. I guess renters rights dont apply in Porter county Indiana.

@Shannan1027 ,
You'll need to use an image-hosting service to post images here. Imgur is free.

An idea - because your lawyer seems to be a dolt - contact your local crusading consumer affairs reporter and tell THEM. Your landlord doesn't want the Board of Health or other regulators sniffing around. Bad publicity for them tends to lead to things like that.

In the meantime, go to your doctor and have your son go to his pediatrician and get a diagnosis - in writing - of mold exposure.
