Whats punk ring?

An internet search brought up this page:

Does the ring have a pattern something like this, where it slowly gets thicker as you travel around the ring?

I don't know if that is the answer. I'm just making a guess based on the fact that this ring is labeled a punk ring.

I really know absolutely nothing about jewelry, so maybe someone else will have a better answer.

It's in reference to Punk Rock, or anything some merchandisers think punk rockers et al would wear. Like biker jewelry, big, chunky, black and silver crosses, crucifixes, skulls etc.

I would never relate gold and diamonds, let alone a well polished and well-crafted ring to be in the realm of punk. Even in any intentional ironic marketing to hipsters and wealthy Millenials sense.
