How many combinations in 5 cards of 3 or more unique 8 or under cards are there ??? Example A74kq is good, 23488 is good, 84kj9 does not qualify. The book says it is about 60% but I can not show that mathematically.

What do you mean by unique? Is AA4kq good? How about 2388k or 22334?
Different would have been a better word. AA2kq would not be good because we need 3 different numbered cards under 9. AA223 would be good.
