"I had this image of us, all grey and wrinkly, and me working in the garden and you re-painting the deck." I think this sentence should be "I had this image of us, all grey and wrinkly, me working in the garden and you re-painting the deck", because "me doing and you doing" is a specific action of the grey and wrinkly us.

It's good the way it's written. The additional "and" emphasizes the list quality of the "image of us," that "I" had.
