What could have happened?

Hello. There was one weird situation with Snapchat. So I still have too many questions and 0 answers.
A few days ago one guy added me there. We have been talking until May 9. During such short period of time we found out things about each other and became close. As a person, he seemed nice and attractive. We even talked on video chat. Everything was okay.
At the evening, 2 days ago he sent me a snap [as I figured out later] but then I left my phone for 5 minutes. When I came back to answer I got a error like I cannot send anything to this user. Okay. I thought this is Internet connection problem and refreshed the page. The same. I couldn’t have sent.
Right after I used another account to check out if he blocked me and typed his username. No results.
He literally disappeared like never been here before. Out chat with saved messages and his account vanished in just one second.
In my opinion, it's weird and unexplained. Who would do like that? I've 2 versions:
1. He has deleted his profile [but why?];
2. He has probably been banned. I don't have much information. All I know that his name is Jole, 1998 May, lives in Croatia. Some details: he likes sport. I doubt that it's enough to find him to know if he is okay. I don't know what else to think.
