“As students, we don’t have enough economic strength to buy everything we desire. ” Can students have "economic strength", which usually links with a nation, a company, or a group?

Yes, as students taken as a group have enormous purchasing power, even if many individuals lack that power.
Students don’t have money. Therefore they don’t have the economic resources to buy the things they want.
