@sahar987,
'Stranded in the 2nd division' - Means 'stuck there'.

@sahar987,
In British soccer the clubs that are not good play in a division themselves, they don't even play the good clubs and therefore have no chance of winning the championship. You have to play in the first division to even have a chance to win the championship. Therefore, "stranded in the second division" means you've done so badly that you have no chance to emerge as a winner now. You have to first work your way back into the first division, then you get a chance to win something.

It's sort of an official designation that you are not good.

@sahar987,
If you give a bit more context those of us with a working knowledge of English football might be able to help out.

@izzythepush,
Big night, tonight - How do you reckon?
I'm watching at 7.45, btw.

You win - You're safe - Swans win...

I reckon Hudds'll drop....?
Chelsea, gunners - last 2

@mark noble,

@izzythepush,
Doesn't 'Not trying' negate the ability to vanquish the thought?
Not trying to .....'?' = Remaining focused on the objective - Thus, further entangled.

I have a fix for that, btw.

@izzythepush,
I have, somehow, become entangled in your most recent upheavals in RL.
Thread - Dead.
