A trip to the valley

We set out to the valley at about 8:35 am.I know that we should have moved earlier, but someone died at my friend's place. He wasn't a relative, besides he was a bit far.Anyway, the others stayed there a little for the burial. He was an old man, I like to talk with olds, they know a lot about this life. So, back to our topic, we were twelve people ( no girls ) ; two elderlies, one child, two most boring men I've ever seen- doen't know them before, and the rest ofcourse were a mixture of stupid, funny, and cool guys.we drove in three different cars; ours had four.Lucky that I know my people well Very Happy .

The place was beautiful, but nothing special. One thing, it was hard to climb down and up, but it was hilarious. The rule was , " mind your foot and don't worry about the rest ".One thing I hated was to carry with you all the stuff needed.I know that it's part of the job, but I can't imagine myself carring cooking utensils, and other things.

We had a leader that was chosen in the elderlies car, my friends and I in the other car didn't take part in the election, but he was a good man.To tell the truth, he was a truely working man.The cute child was his, and active member as well.We chose the best spot or place in the valley as usual.I was afraid that we wouldn't make it before others took the good places, but we did.

Now, the assingments part; the elderlies had to sit and take care of the place Smile ( sometimes I have this idea of being old so fast ), the two funny guys ( they are freinds, and work together ) had the mission of cutting, chopping, and washing.A quiet person that I know was with them. I wonder how they got along away from us, but it was ok I guess. My two friends and I had to collect wood.I think it was the toughest task. The child was with us, and he was of a help. The rest I didn't exactly know what they did?!!

Okie Dokie, I'll complete later.

Sorry , but I don't have time now

As I said, it was hard to go and collect wood.We didn't walk that long before we found what we were looking for.At that place, we found three kids playing football.I said hello, and tried to make a little chat. They weren't hesitant to speak, but they were laughing, and I don't know why.Maybe, it was me.I asked for a saw to help us cutting down some logs. They said, they have it, but can't go home to bring it.Ok, we went to the old methods; stones, robes, anything will do.My friend made something like a sledge to carry the wood.Good thought.

So, when we got to the others, we found them started cooking.Actually, we had one cook, with two assistants including me ofcourse.I don't know how to cook, but I was helping keeping the fire on.

Time was going fast; jokes, stories, nonsense, and everything possible. Then, we were invaded with a big army of families, and other people. They camped not far away, and we were caught in the middle.I wonder who has the greatest number on Earth; females or males.

After this, nothing special, because my friend and I left earlier than others.I think they stayed for swimming.I myself can't be too long from home, I have things to do and always.

I know that I'm not good in writing, but I'm trying anyway. One thing, the valley is far away from places you can think about. It's in the Arabian Gulf, no country specified Very Happy

I'm really enjoying this trip navigator.
Quite a vivid picture you're drawing for me.
I'm going to have to get out my atlas.

Don't downplay your writing skills, navigator.
I can 'hear' your voice.
I can 'see' the scene.

We all have little grammar and spelling things we can work on - but we don't all have voices when we write. You do.

following navigator's story, I found this

http://saudiembassy.net/Publications/MagWinter96/blending.html

and the beautiful valley above

Quote:
The attraction of the desert is almost an unexplainable instinct for some Saudis who enjoy the beauty and solitude of the unique environment. Camping expeditions are common, and large groups will even set up small tent-cities of manufactured white canvas tents to experience the desert much as their Bedouin ancestors did. An afternoon picnic with family and friends in the desert is a common outing where it is possible to relax and enjoy nature, and where children have the opportunity to explore and learn about the unique environment firsthand.

Sitting in the desert, one cannot help but contemplate the harshness and incredible beauty of the landscape and wonder at mankind's ability to lead a full and productive life in such a demanding environment.

see what you did, navigator.
you made me go and learn more.
that's always always always a good thing.
