Can I use a generator to run my appliance?
Appliance: Refrigerators
3000 - 4500 WATTS
Refrigerators take an extra surge at startup, and it is usual to choose a generator rated 50% above the load, so for a 4,500 watt refrigerator load, you would choose a generator rated at 6,750 VA/Watts or above. A smaller rating runs the risk of blowing generator fuse or tripping breaker. This is quite a big generator for domestic use. You should really be consulting a professional generator supplier, in particular because cables, etc need to be correctly chosen to avoid risk of fire or damage.
