@Marry Gold,
If you know for sure that you have diabetes (and aren't just guessing), then you also, for sure, have a doctor.

These are questions for him or her. If you don't get answers, insist. It is their job to answer these questions.

A simple blood test is need to find out diabetes. There are two types of diabetes: type 1 and type 2. The type 1 diabetes is insulin dependent and type 2 is treated with medications and lifestyle changes but over time when pancreas stops making insulin then type 2 also need insulin. You should ask your doctor for the targeted blood sugar level. Hypoglycemia is treated by consuming a carbohydrates rich food like glucose tablet or juice. Eating sugar does not cause diabetes but too much consumption of sugar results in type 2 diabetes as it can make people put on weight and eating too much of anything increases chances of diabetes. Walking about 30 minutes help you to control blood sugar.
