Share button on Facebook

I've been told that one reason why the share button does not show up on my posts is because i have a name entered in a custom restriction.
Who should see this ....Friends except ......
When i try and remove the name and save ... it "does not take". I "defriended" the person and the name is still there. Can anyone help with this or the main problem dealing with the share button. Thanks
