How should I kill a Character

I am writing a character that needs to die somehow. It is a science fiction and he is a captain of a ship called the Eutony. If you need more information on him leave a question or a proper death for him...

If you are meaning is the character these things, he is somewhat. He is a broken character. He doesn't understand how most things work such as emotions as he stays connected to machines and ignores the world around but his ship is destroyed, leaving him to fend in a world he doesn't understand.

Slowly, very slowly whle he practices eutony with the voice of Gerda echoing in his head. As he does this he senses a foreboding presence and upon opening his orbs, sees the dreaded Fluffantrans gathered about piercing him with poison filled needles.

...he attempts to fight them off and seeks the medical officer's help, but dehydrates and crumples into a pile of nothingness as the Fluffantrans dance merrily, knowing that now their galaxy is safe.

No, I meant under what circumstances should the death be. Do you want an accidental death, a murder, etc.? Is the death integral to the plot or something on the side?

Mainly I am bored. I have been experimenting with writing things I am not comfortable with. I plan too much in my writing but growth is achieved through trying new things so I am trying writing things I have never done. I have never written a death of a character by someone else's idea so here I am.

Mainly, I need him to be gone in any way. In his chest is a key that goes to a temple with the weapon they need to destroy the enemy so he needs to die in some way so they can get the key.

Sounds a bit too much like the plot of a computer game to me. Why can't they use surgery?

Because they're stuck in the middle of nowhere. And I like writing gore.

He's sent outside the spaceship to repair something, gets Flash frozen, even the key. So it would shatter if he's brought in and thawed out.

gluttony. NOt a lot of good gluttony going around these days. Everybody's sooo concerned about their carbs an food chemistry, and caloric iintake and good fats and paleo diets . This is going on so much today that I could scream. A character or two needs good gluttonious demise.

Given Eutony is a practice based on sensory awareness developed by Gerda Alexander as a means to balance tensions in the body, move with ease, and become more attuned to one's surroundings.

And that Euphony means the quality of being pleasing to the ear.

Perhaps you may wish to change the ship's name unless everything is already dead in the water.

As it's science fiction, the cap'n could be made to walk the length of a max planck, arrrggh.
