Does 'time difference' have an effect on A2K?

Whilst America slept I see that you Brits discovered the secret of the bessemer process.

Letty said this on the RadioA2k thread...and it started me thinking: I wonder if the time of day and the time difference effect they way we talk to each other on A2K?

Right now, I've had dinner, two glasses of wine, thinking about watching a DVD, going round and round on my 'spinney' chair in front of the PC...you get the picture...I'm pretty chilled, therefore my posts reflect that!

What do you lot think?

This morning I was in front of my PC while taking my breakfast.

I was thinking about all those american people of A2K sleeping deeply in their silent houses.

Thinking either about those charming Aussies dinning.

And Brits or germans were doing as I (taking breakfast).

Only I know now some insomniacs.

I'm on my second cup of coffee after breakfast,
and still in my PJ's. I haven't thought about lunch
yet, never mind dinner, and wine isn't an option
either at this hour.

So, good morning to you! Wink

It sure does. When you see those Aussies posting at a normal time of day, try to remember they just got up and haven't yet had their coffee. Try to be patient with them.

...but I assume many members post at the same time of the day due to work or domestics...so they may correspond regularly with someone 10 hours in front or behind them!

Do you think this effects conversations...what I find amusing in the evening after dinner/wine, I may find a little 'risque' in the a.m. Rolling Eyes

Sometimes when I can't sleep I'll find myself chatting with msolga and deb...it's comforting to know there's another shift and we're Open All Hours

It's 7p.m. I'm thinking of watching a DVD called The Cooler (Las Vegas), anyone seen it? Recommended?

Yes smorgs, nice avatar - it keeps the guys on their toes Wink
Yet I wish you'd go back to Sarah.

I usually go to bed early (around 10:30 to 11:00 pm)
and I still have plenty of people to "talk" to here, as it
seems the east coasters are all night owls and sometimes
the early risers from Europe join in.

My favourite time online has always been Sunday morning. The upside downers are ending the weekend, and usually quite mellow, the Europeans have had their afternoon meal, and are having a beverage or something, and we can watch the north and south americans wake up and stagger onto the board.

For about 3 years I had a Sunday morning 'date' with a friend in Germany - I did laundry while he studied, and we ICQ'd. It was lovely.

I don't know. It somehow reminds me of those little munchkin puppets
with long purple hair, my daughter had once to play with.

Sarah is such a nice feminine name. Smile

The different "shifts" here are fun - very definite characters and such.

I like it when I can be here in the blaze of activity - but there is something to be said for prowling the empty corridors, meeting only a few US night owls - or Europeans - or other Ozzians.

I often want to go about leaving graffiti, as it were, on the walls of the temporarily empty threads - you know, silly comments - boxes of chocolates - stink bombs - that sort of thing.
