Copy image--Help !!

I know how to to put a photo into an Email mesage, it's really easy, and it stays there. However, if I copy the photo, then insert it into an existing Email, it disdappears, leaving only a tiny blue square containing a '?'

Its address: cid:[email protected] doesn't do anything, it's rejected no matter what

Obviously I'm doin' somethin' stupid, but can you tell me what it is
