Both the girl and I have established the fact that we're interested in each other (keep in mind we're in high school), and she wants me to ask her out. However I was raised to ask the parent's permission first and so I refused. She lives with her mother, but her mom doesn't seem interested in her daughter's relationships. The mom rarely comes to the school and only speaks Spanish. I've taken 3 years of Spanish, but still lack the opportunity to meet her mom in person. I refuse to date her without her parent's knowledge. What do I do?
@JustAnEmerald,
Talk to your former Spanish teachers about how to ask questions using formal address, and what to say. And make it clear where the parents are from! Word usage differs for Spain, Mexico, Peru, etc. You want to be sure you are using the terminology correctly and not accidentally insulting anyone. Plus it shows you care enough to respect their specific culture. Latinx people are not all alike.
@jespah,
Thank you for the advice (: I'll make sure to do that

This seems silly to me. But, you have already said what you are going to do.
