My wife and I were subscription members of the San Francisco Symphony for over 13 years, but it meant traveling from Sunnyvale to San Francisco, a 45 mile trip. We heard some of the greatest musicians in the world, and loved it very much, but the travel became a burden at my age. While in London on one of my many visits, Jerry Goldsmith had a concert at the Barbican which I attended. On a trip to St Petersberg, I went to a concert at the Mariinski Concert Hall, and heard one of the greatest opera singers in Russia. Yes, I love orchestra music.
