Me and my husband moved in the neighboorhood about two years ago, we met a couple that live nearby a bit older than us very friendly loved their kids.. since we were from the same country living in the states, it was very pleasant to meet somebody that speaks the same language etc.. me and the woman started hanging out and they invited us to parties & family gatherings etc.. My husband is an IT engineer and I just got a job and got promoted after 6 months, I was so happy to share the news with her “my friend” she started becoming distant with me and then everytime I see her she talks about how much money her husband makes and that she doesn’t have to work. The most creepy part is that for some reason she keeps telling me how good her sex life is which I don’t care about, then whenever I see her even if it’s a 5 min conversation she talks about “how much her husband loves her and surprises her”, last time they invited us in their backyard she made us coffee on her “couple mugs” and served us coffee with them 😩 Aren’t they meant to be drinking from them ?? I really love it when couples go along very well and when they are in love. That’s how I feel with my husband and I never brag about it .. am I somehow a threat to her that she needs to express herself in such way ? I really thought this over last time I thought I was exaggerating But then she states in a conversation how “ her husband bought her a car and mine still didn’t get me one” (so wierd) compares herseld to me eveytime and then her husband told us a story how he showed his son his bank accounts of his savings “53.000” “20.000” “60.000” but the kid doesnt know the numbers that well and these kind of stupid things .. just to show off in front of us I was in shock !!! Can somebody please tell me what is on with these people ? I have never met anyone like that.. I really want to know your opinions
@pumpkinspicelatte,
No advice from me, but I can tell you what I would do. Whenever they started bragging, I would lavish them with praise and quickly make my excuses to leave. Next time, I would do the same, only leave even sooner. I would not go back.
