Advice requested for a new collector

Good morning everyone..

I am very new to coin collecting, and have just finished ordering ALL the coin folders that H E Harris produces, so I can try and collect all the US coins.

I plan to try and collect the CIRCULATED coins, as I realize the un-circulated ones will cost a fortune to obtain, especially for the very old ones.

I wondered if someone could advise me about how to store the coins when I get them.

I plan to place each relevant coin in the appropriate slot in each coin book, when I obtain the coins, but I have noticed that some people keep their coins in the little white sleeve.

I was wondering why people would keep them in the sleeve, as this makes it pointless to have the book ???

Also, can someone advise a good source where I can buy bulk bags of unsearched coins to try and quickly build up my collection please ?

I live on the East coast in PA, so was also wondering what people thought was the best way of getting hold of coins from the San Francisco mint ( or should I just take a vacation in CA and bring back lots of change ?? )
