Making A Timed Bug Zapper

So, I have a project that I need to finish, the concept is making a timed bug zapper, I want to connect a programmable timer (like an alarm clock or something) to a bug zapper, so when the time runs out the bug zapper will "zap" once. anyone know how I could achieve this?
