Using LED Bulbs on Knob & Tube Wiring

Reply Tue 12 Sep, 2017 10:43 am
I have purchased Home Depot LED bulbs with a five year guaranty that lasted 4 months. The box states that they are to be used on only 120 Volt, 60 Hz Circuits, but the wiring that feeds that fixture is on a fuse instead of a circuit. Could this be a contributing factor to the short life?

You are getting confused between "circuit" and "circuit breaker" (which is the alternative to a fuse). Whatever is causing your LED lamps to blow it is not the fact that your circuits are fused.

@centrox,
Thanks. Anything past plugging something into the wall and turning the switch is out of my league.
