When using the wall switch the light will flash on then off. Power is at the switch but not hot at fixture when switch is on as per circuit tester. Bulbs are fine. Wiring appears tight, not loose, ground is attached.

@Kdugan,
A. The following remarks are under a certain assumption, not entirely clear from your OP, no offense, Kd. Rereading your 'scrip' four times over, there's a remote possibility that the light sometimes comes on even when the switch is off. If that's indeed the case, then we must revisit the entire q !!

Ugan, my first reaction is [1] there's some sort of semiconductor device in the hot line to the light, hidden away somewhere that you can't see it or

[2] Less likely, there's simply a loose connection in the wiring, again, at some point you can't see. Sometimes this happens when it takes a second or two for heat to build up in that misconnect, before parting takes place. You'd know this if, leaving the switch on, later it flashes again

[3] When you specify 'at the fixture,' it isn't clear precisely what you mean; at the bared wire or at the terminal. Here the same sort of thing as (2) may occur even though 'Wiring appears tight'

[4] Ignoring above 3 suggestions, it's not entirely clear when you specify 'Power is at the switch,' whether you mean at the input or the output side; Then, again, whether you'ree measuring at the wire or at the terminal

Good luck, Gan

B. Edited to note, once having attempted (1) through (4), I realize it still isn't quite clear exactly what you mean, whether the light (a) comes on the instant you throw the switch or (2) somewhat later. This is important !!

D. Oh, and a2k Mgmt, please reread this'n' most carefully, and if you do find something wrong with it, I'd appreciate it very much if you'd first contact me, [email protected] , before deleting it, letting me know when you plan to do so, as I have sent fwds to several others of importance. Or, to the contrary, if you'd like to keep it with only certain editing, please let me know exactly what I should do

Thank you Mgmt, for the many years here at a2k, and hope to be able to stay w/ you for many more
