Mary (mother of Jesus) was not virgin

But Jesus was fathered by the Holy Spirit, so that he would not have original sin (which is inherited via a flesh-and-blood father). Not because sex is "dirty".

The story goes that Mary was a virgin. Joseph became furious when she told him a bundle of joy was on the way and had to have an angel come and talk with him.

Later on, after Jesus was born some angels helped the trio leave Bethlehem because some guy was going berserk about being dethroned by a new baby king who would topple him from his throne. After they leave Bethlehem, they establish residency...possibly in Nazareth where Joe has a Carpentry business and Mary is a fortune teller (she had a direct line to God/Abba/Yahweh).

Once they become established, they proceed to have several children who are known as the brothers and sisters of Jesus. The sisters are usually overlooked because a bunch of sexist men wrote the Bible and refused to acknowledge women most of the time.

Who gives a rat's ass? Really, why do you care? Adherence to an organized religion is a case of naming one's poison.

From what can be gathered from the mythology, Mary was a virgin at the time of Jesus' conception. She bore him brothers subsequently.

The word "virgin" has been miss-translated. It means "young woman" in Greek.
