Connecting old dryer motor to 120volt

Hi, I'm trying to wire an old Inglis dryer motor to a 120 volt connection. It uses a control switch (probably not the proper term) with 6 receptacles. I've tried numerous combinations but I have failed to get the motor to turn. I did get it to do a slight hum once.

I've found various tutorials online but they are all for more recent models with different connections.

Here are photos of the wiring diagram and of the motor. This is the first time I'm doing a project like this and have very limited electrical knowledge, detailed instructions will therefore be probably necessary.

Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated, thank you.
