Calculating number of effects in ANOVA

I'm a complete newbie to SPSS and ANOVA and was wondering if anyone can help me out with calculating the total number of effects (main effects plus interactions). For instance what would be the total number for 3X3X4 ANOVA and how do you go about calculating it?
