The IPA symbols for word originality is /əˌrɪdʒəˈnæləti/. I know how to pronounce each syllables and how to stress the word from ( ˈ ) mark. But the thing is what is the purpose of "ˌ" character which has after 'ə'. How to pronounce this word correctly with "ˌ" character.

Please note this may be a stupid question, but I'm really struggling to understand this. I can't hear the difference only by hearing the pronunciation of the word. Please let me know how can I over come this.

Thanks.

Primary stress mark is a raised short vertical like like an apostrophe, secondary stress mark (that you ask about) is a lowered vertical line like a comma.
