I have spoken.....

Which of the following sentences is or are correct?

1) I have spoken with John and he HAS SAID that the goods will be shipped tomorrow.

2) I have spoken with John and he SAID that the goods will be shipped tomorrow.

3) I have spoken with John and he SAYS that the goods will be shipped tomorrow.

If all three are possible, do they mean the same thing?

If so, which would you use or do you prefer?

Thank you.

@paok1970,
All three are acceptable and have the same meaning. The second example is the one I would use if only offered these three; however, I would usually say, I spoke to John, he said the goods will ship tomorrow.

@Sturgis,
Thank you very much for your prompt response.

Would you please explain why, in your sentence, it's ".....the goods WILL SHIP tomorrow" and not ".....the goods WILL BE SHIPPED tomorrow"?

Thanks again for your kind help.

@paok1970,
You are quite welcome.

The difference between "...the goods will ship tomorrow." and "...the goods will be shipped tomorrow.", is a matter of choice. They hold the same meaning and indicate the shipment is going out tomorrow.
