Which of the following statements is correct?

1) I cannot do the shopping now. I HAVE FORGOTTEN my wallet at home.

2) I cannot do the shopping now. I HAVE LEFT my wallet at home.

neither one sounds quite right.

these are better --

- I forgot my wallet.

- I left my wallet at home.

Paok1970's aentences are both perfectly correct.

American English is more likely to say "I left" or "I forgot" rather than "I have left" or "I have forgotten", but the original sentences as shown are perfectly good, correct English, and they both mean the same.
