I've read the rules for hyphenation just can't get my head around them. I am writing a paper, should It be hyphenated as:

Bio-Strategies
Thoughts on a bio based society
or
Bio Strategies
Thoughts on a bio-based society

or, some variation of the two.

I think you would hyphenate them both.

Bio-Strategies
Thoughts on a bio-based society
