80's love rock songs about a boy?

I know this is something of a long shot but I'm looking for romantic 80s rock songs that I wanted to dedicate on the radio to my bf, but I was hoping to find something that specifically lists all the qualities that a girl loves about the guy in her life.

To give you an idea of what I'm looking for, a mid-80's example is "I Want Candy" by Bow Wow Wow and some pre-80's examples are "Let's Go" by Cars and "Boy From New York City" by the Ad Libs, and although I think these songs are awesome they're still a bit too playful and cutesy for what I'm looking for, and "Let's Go" I obviously can't use as it's about a girl not a boy. ^^ I was hoping to find something a bit more serious, heartfelt and perhaps even a little desperate in tone but still very catchy and upbeat and something you can dance to if that makes any sense. I was hoping to find songs from mostly the early to mid-80's but songs from the late 80's are cool too. Thanks in advance.
