in last elections,(1)/the electorates(2)/ opposed the politicians(3)/ and puzzled them(4)/no error (5).
in this there is an error in "the electorates" but why? whats wrong in it??
One would ask "what's wrong with it?" Electorate is usually understood to be a form of plural noun, referring to all those who are eligible to vote in a nation or a region of a nation. One would only use electorates if it has already been specified that one is referring to the eligible voters in more than one regions or more than one nation. No such thing is specified in the sentence fragment you have provided.
There is only one electorate in a polity.
