what is error in "the half pants of my brother are shorter than mine"
the error is in "the half pants" but whats wrong in it?
Nobody says 'half pants' in standard English. Maybe it is a local variant where you are. Do you mean shorts?
@centrox,
sheesh
and I thought it was weird when the fashion world tried to tell me 7/8th's length pants were in. just call them ankle-length. we already know what that means.
My previous grab was Oxford; this is Cambridge (English Dictionaries)
yes it means shorts but can we use article "the" before it?

You not only can, you must.
