I was in New Jersey and a hotel receptionist (who sounded like Tony Soprano on steroids) said "I like your accent". I said "Thanks. I like yours too". He said "But I haven't got an accent".

People told me I had an accent too, my respo0nse was to say that everyone had an accent and even if we accepted their definition of accent as in something foreign, none of them sounded Mexican.
