You can probably go into detail so long as you don't give away their name or other pertinent information. Since the odds are that your actual name isn't newmoonnewmoon, they likely wouldn't know you'd made a posting anywhere unless you told somebody or them.

Returning the bad attitude will only make it worse. "What can't be cured must be endured" is my motto for situations like that. Cure the effect on yourself by avoiding the person as much as possible, then if you still have to see them sometimes, be unfailingly polite (this can help you feel better) and finally resolve to endure what bad feelings in you that are left. Long term, change your life situation. This may be difficult if it is a partner, spouse, or family member.
