I am trying to compare means between soil moisture measured at two adjacent locations. Samples were discretely collected over the course of 2 months (6 samples for each location, where samples for each location were collected at the same time and date). Since both samples are influenced by precipitation as a function of time, I'm assuming the samples aren't independent of each other. Furthermore, I have a small sample size (n=6). Therefore, I was wondering if there is an appropriate test I can use to compare means when: the samples aren't independent, aren't normally distributed, and the sample size is small?
