Hi,
I've tried to delete my FB account several years ago. The issue is that my profile still appears in Google search, nonetheless without any information on it.
I know that this is my own profile since I'm one of the last members of my family, with a unique surname.
I've tried to access the account with no success. FB tells me that there are no users with that email, but I know for sure that email is the one associated with my FB account. I have it on my FB backup index HTML page.
FB also won't acknowledge my user name, email or password.
Can anyone help me to get rid of my FB profile showing up in search engines?
Best regards
@alexvt,
This is happening because it's no longer a job for FB; it's a job for Google and other search engines. You want to get the page delisted. For Google, go to this page and follow instructions:
https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1663419?hl=en
Other search engines are likely to follow suit with Google, but you might want to formally request delisting from Bing and Yahoo! anyway.
For what it seems, the URL removal tool from Google only lets you remove something you own (and it really populates my blog for instance).
I assume that the URL removal tool will not work on a FB link which I've no access, or one which I do not have the property as Google asks for.
@alexvt,
You still might be able to petition for delisting. It'll involve more digging into Google.
