Hi everyone,

I have to write an explanation letter to become a Canadian citizen but I am not too sure if my grammar is right.

There is a gap of 374 days between my old and new passports; my old passport was expired on December 31, 2013 and my new passport was issued on January 09, 2015.
I didn't renew my passport because I was not planning on traveling out of Canada during that time period.

What do you guys think? Does everything look fine? Please let me know. Thanks!

Spell the amount of days. Just add a period after the first use of the phrase new passports. Capitalize the letter M, and add a comma between 2013 and the word and. Add a comma between passport and because.
